The Art of Peacemaking: A Guide to Successful Conflict Resolution is a book that was written to help people resolve serious personal and business conflicts successfully, and without costly, stressful, disruptive, and lengthy legal procedures or lawsuits. Over sixty years of life experience, and over thirty years as a practicing lawyer have taught me that the techniques that resolve our conflicts are the same whether they are family matters, business matters, or even political matters. In all but the rarest cases, a determined effort to listen; to find common ground with others; to maintain a human view of the situation; to understand what really matters to us; to find help where we need it; and to remember our natural inclinations toward justice, can lead to realistic, long-lasting, and mutually satisfactory resolutions of even the most difficult conflicts. The Art of Peacemaking provides a practical map of the path to successful peacemaking, based both on actual experiences of conflict resolution and application of the teachings of the greatest light-givers the world has known. It explains how each of us may resolve our conflicts through proven peacemaking methods that can also lead to our own greater personal growth and happiness in the process.
